About this experience
This full-day horseback expedition follows ancient trails once used by Mapuche traders and later by settlers moving between Chile and Argentina. You'll ride through some of the most pristine wilderness in Patagonia, ascending through old-growth forests to high alpine meadows with views of both countries. This is a more challenging ride for those with some experience, offering an authentic taste of Patagonian frontier life. A traditional asado lunch in a remote clearing makes this an unforgettable day in the saddle.

You should be comfortable at walk and trot, and able to control your horse independently. This is a long day in the saddle through varied terrain. If you're unsure, try our Valley Horseback Ride first.
We ride along the border region and reach viewpoints overlooking both countries, but we don't officially cross the border as that requires documentation and customs procedures.
A traditional Patagonian asado with beef or lamb grilled over open fire, accompanied by fresh salads, bread, and regional wine. Vegetarian options available with advance notice.
